Martha Thompson 1950’s Betsy Sheffield & Little Brother, NIADA Doll Artist
Done by the ladies of the Sheffield Church in Alabama as a fund raiser. Martha Thompson was a very early member of NIADA (National Institute of American Doll Artists). Her work is fabulous. This is a nice early example of her fabulous work. 14″ Betsy Sheffield and 13″ Little Brother. This pair was done in the 1950’s. They have porcelain shoulder plates, heads, arms and legs with beautifully sculpted and painted boots, glass inset eyes and molded, painted hair, wonderfully dressed.
